HarborFest Talent Show Tryouts, 3 - 7:30 pm, for children who can sIng, dance, play an instrument or are talented! Mertz Community Building, 382 Main St.

Afternoon T.E.A.: Music Club of Port Washington, 2 pm The Music Study Club of Port Washington presents a delightful afternoon of contemporary classical music performed by its talented members. Come enjoy pianists, singers and instrumentalists who will share their love of familiar and original compositions. Originally known as the "Tuesday Afternoon Musical", the Music Study Club of Port Washington was founded in 1919 by a group of local musicians who met informally to perform and discuss music. In 1925 the Club joined the National Federation of Music Clubs. Since the inception of the club, the meetings have begun with the presentation of a research paper on a musicological topic chosen in advance by the members, preceded by a musical performance - all integral to the club's ongoing mission. In the years after World War II the club made several changes, allowing non-performing (Associate) members to join, while continuing the traditional structure of the meetings. The club continues to thrive and to serve the community through the Olive Singer awards for Port Washington Public School students, charitable contributions to local organizations, and public performances. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
Free admission to Afternoon TEA is made possible by the support of the Manhasset Community Fund, Greentree Foundation "Good Neighbor" Fund, the Nassau County Bar Association "We Care Fund" and New York Community Bank Foundation.

Pushcart Players in Peter & The Wolf, 3pm
Pushcart puts its trademark spin on a beloved Russian folk tale. Classical music by Prokofiev, storytelling, puppetry and the ageless adventure of growing up comprise this masterpiece.
THE MUSIC: A different instrument and melody (or "leitmotif") represents each character of the play, creating an excellent link to understanding all types of music.
THE STORY: A lively adventure about a spirited young boy who meets the challenge of danger with courage, creativity and leadership.
THE CELEBRATION: The value of love, friendship and caring and the dangers of greed, arrogance and prejudice. There is innocence and wisdom, youth and maturity, conflict resolution, moral development, and beauty in the natural order of life!

Arlo Guthrie "Alice's Restaurant" 50th Anniversary Tour -- SOLD OUT, 8 pm Arlo Guthrie has been known to generations as a prolific songwriter, social commentator, master storyteller, actor and activist. Born in Coney Island, New York in 1947, Arlo is the eldest son of Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, a professional dancer with the Martha Graham Company and founder of The Committee to Combat Huntington's Disease, and America's most beloved singer/writer/philosopher/artist Woody Guthrie. Arlo has become an iconic figure in folk music in his own right with a distinguished and varied career spanning over fifty years.
"Alice's Restaurant's" hilarious account of actual events that precluded Arlo Guthrie from military service (1966) became a platinum selling record (1967) and full-length motion picture (1969) at the outset of his renowned career. As we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the lengthiest hit single in music history, Arlo once again performs it live. Due to its length, Arlo has only added the complete "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" to his touring menu on the 10-year anniversaries. For the last five decades, Arlo has carried on the Guthrie family legacy of sharing timeless stories and unforgettable classics to audiences far and wide. "The Alice's Restaurant 50th Anniversary Tour" brings together an ensemble of fine musicians never to grace the stage together at one time. Arlo's deft band includes Terry Hall (drums), Bobby Sweet (guitar, vocals), Darren Todd (bass), and his son, Abe Guthrie (keyboards). Each show is curated with an awe-inspiring light show created specifically for this tour by 44 Designs, Inc., along with previously unseen images from the Guthrie archives. More than 75,000 photos have recently been digitized, and selections will be projected during the evening.
